Are you looking for a safe, affordable and engaging place for your children to go afterschool? Look no further than the Gifford Youth Achievement Center!
GYAC’s educational afterschool program is open to students in grades K – 12. With a focus on purpose, preparation and praise, GYAC prepares students for life in school and beyond and offers students countless opportunities to discover and tap into their talents.
Parents and guardians, rest assured knowing that your children are cared for in a structured, compassionate, and highly engaging environment. GYAC’s degreed afterschool teachers, staff, volunteers and donors pour their hearts into your child’s growth and development.
What to Expect
Degreed teachers, dedicated staff and volunteers and an extensive network of community partners, drive students to take advantage of educational, cultural and social opportunities that inspired students to discover untapped talents and possibilities.
Students enrolled in GYAC’s afterschool program:
- receive transportation from their school to GYAC
- must attend a minimum of three days a week
- are eligible to attend GYAC’s winter and spring break camps at no extra cost
- are eligible to enroll in the Youth Employability Program (8th – 12th graders)

Space is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis. Parents must create an online account and submit all necessary paperwork in order to register their child(ren).
The following programs costs are made possible through the generosity of our incredible donors.
- One semester: $60
- One year: $120
Education (The Broccoli)
Monday through Thursday, teachers focus on homework completion and subject mastery. After snack time in the gymnasium, students walk to their classroom and settle in for homework help.
One-on-one assistance is available through GYAC’s many volunteers and the Sonday Reading Program.
Recreation (The Candy)
Once students have completed their homework for the day, they are welcome to participate in GYAC’s many special interest clubs: Book, Garden, Science Explorers, Young Journalists and more!
Fridays are dedicated to recreation and extracurricular exploration.
