The 16th annual Turkey Share is taking place this year on Monday, November 14th at 5:00 p.m. at the Victor Hart, Sr. Community Enhancement Complex in Gifford.  To receive a turkey, you must register in advance for a voucher.  Voucher registration will take place at the Gifford Youth Achievement Center from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on November 3rd, 8th, and 10th.

“Please have a copy of your light bill or some other proof of your Indian River County residency at the time of registration,” requests Freddie Woolfork, GYAC’s Director of Public Relations and Facilities Operations. “One turkey per household, please.”

For those who wish to donate to the Turkey Share, Freddie Woolfork, Teddy Floyd and Deputy Cliff Labbe of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office will be collecting funds to purchase turkeys. Checks can be made payable to the Gifford Youth Achievement Center, with “Turkey Drive” designated in the memo section.

“Thank you for showing compassion during this time of year. Your generosity will help provide for families that may otherwise not have a turkey this Thanksgiving,” said Woolfork.

For more information, contact Freddie Woolfork at 772.794.1005, ext.234.
