For the last 26 years, the Gifford Youth Achievement Center (GYAC) has been “Changing Lives, Changing Futures.” After opening its doors on February 15, 1998, the facility has grown tremendously while fulfilling its mission to create, with God’s guidance, educational, cultural, and social opportunities that enhance the lives of the youth and families GYAC serves. As a vibrant beacon of hope in the community, GYAC is always excited to share a wealth of information about its programs. On Thursday, April 18, GYAC will host its famous ‘Red Carpet Tour’ to give new and seasoned residents the opportunity to see what makes the organization Indian River County’s ‘Miracle on 43rd Avenue.’

Led by Freddie Woolfork, GYAC’s director of public relations and facilities operations, the tour provides guests with an unforgettable experience, as they see firsthand why their neighbors support the Center’s mission. With more than 250 students enrolled in its afterschool program, the organization offers an enriching environment for youth to develop not only academically but socially as well. Guests are given the opportunity to tour the campus and observe students as they receive homework assistance and participate in numerous activities, such as lessons in the Science Explorers Club, skill building in the Youth Employability Program (YEP), gardening, tennis, chess, and much more.

While learning about the extraordinary programs offered at the GYAC, guests will get the chance to enjoy refreshments and learn more during a Q&A session with the Center’s leadership team. At GYAC, there is a world of possibilities.
