Every March, Sea Oaks holds an annual Arts Stroll down one of the community’s live oak covered streets, Bent Oak Lane. This year, 29 residents set up driveway displays of their artwork, which included paintings, jewelry, photography, needlework, pottery, and flower arrangements. Over 400 neighbors, friends, and guests attended the event, enjoying the art and the conversations with the artists who were on hand at each of their displays. At the end of the street, the Sea Oaks Band played for the audience who enjoyed homemade popcorn and drinks sitting in the shade.

This year, several artists donated a piece of their work to Sea Oak’s Silent Auction. Proceeds were given to the Gifford Youth Achievement Center for their afterschool art program. With the help of Hank Feeley, the artist who works with students every Friday at GYAC, ten Gifford student artists displayed their colorful paintings on a panel dedicated to their work. Several of the students and their relatives attended the event and enjoyed not only seeing their own work displayed but also talking to the Sea Oaks artists about their displays. A total of $1,600 was raised and donated to GYAC’s art classes to be used to purchase their own large panel for displaying their artwork at the school and other materials that will encourage students to pursue their artistic talents.
